Confirmation of session details and what to expect on the day, will be sent by email a few days before the session. Help us improve our staff and patient experiences by taking part in 'Shaping our Values' week.

‘Shaping our Values’ is a programme to involve leaders, staff, patients and whānau in designing the experience they would like at Hutt Valley DHB.

'Shaping our Values' week will be from 22nd May - 26th May 2017. During this week we will listen to patients, whānau, staff and leaders in a range of sessions:

  • In Your Shoes – for staff listen to patients and whānau talk about their experiences in our care
  • In Our Shoes – for staff talk about what it’s like working here, and how to improve things
  • In Leader's Shoes – a values-leadership listen and learn session for all our clinical and non-clinical leaders and managers

This page is for STAFF to register to listen to patient and whānau talk about their experiences in our care at an 'IN YOUR SHOES' PATIENT LISTENING event - please read before registering:

‘In Your Shoes' patient sessions for STAFF and LEADERS to listen to patients:

  • There will be around 30 patients and 30 members of staff in each session
  • Each session is 2.5 hours long for staff and 2 hours long for patients and whānau (who arrive 30 minutes after staff)
  • As a 'staff listener' you will be paired up with a patient or whānau and listen to their experience
  • You will help your patient or family member contribute to the group discussion
  • You don't need any clinical experience, people from all staff groups are welcome
  • All staff listeners will be given a full briefing before patients and whānau arrive

Everyone is invited - all roles, levels, services and departments. To take part, please register for the session you can attend by using the 'register' button (top right).

Sessions will be held at or close to Hutt Hospital. Venues will be confirmed by email before the sessions.

Please note - these sessions are for all leaders and staff. You can attend an 'In Your Shoes' event as well as attending either an 'In Our Shoes' or 'In Leader's Shoes' listening event.
